Since this post and others of The New South Cafe, The New South Cafe has closed it’s Skidaway Road Location and have reopened a new pub located in The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum of the name The New South Pub. The New South Pub offers affordable dining options as well as a Southern Buffet that could give Paula Deen a run for her money…and you don’t have to wait outside in the sweltering heat! Check it out.

New South Cafe is the third stop on the Foody Tour Savannah, which visits 8 locations in 2hrs. and 45 minutes. They serve the tour Peanut-Honey encrusted fried chicken bites. Taste so gooooood, make you want to slap your Moma!

Very courteous and attentive staff. Unfortunately the fare left much to be desired. I have never had tough and chewy shrimp in Savannah prior to this meal. Also the pork loin was rather chewy as well. The potato au gratin was somewhat undercooked. The sweet potato soup was so spicy that it could not be enjoyed. Perhaps these particular dishes are not typical of this restaurant, but for the price ($28 entree each) I would have expected a gourmet meal which this certainly was not.
